Also known as The Clyde at Govan, this image from 1859 shows workmen engaged on widening operations at Yorkhill on the north bank of the river. There is a paddle steamer on the river, sailing past the Govan Old Yard (sold by Robert Napier to Dobie & Co in 1858). Govan Old Parish Church's steeple appears on the skyline.
