A miniature portrait of Peter Wright (1740?-1819) by and unknown artist.
Wright was admitted to the Faculty of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1766 and was its President five times between 1771 and 1806. In 1795 Wright was instructed by the Faculty to address the problem of old and decaying paintings in its collection, without spending too much money on the matter. Many of the paintings subsequently disappeared.
