Celtic Connections

Musicians at the Celtic Connections music festival.

The Celtic Connections festival was first held in 1993 to fill a gap in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall's winter programme, at a time when there was a growing demand for, and interest in, folk music. It quickly became a city-wide event, acquiring an international reputation and recognition as the premiere Celtic music festival in the United Kingdom. The festival focuses on Scottish traditional music but musicians from Ireland, Canada, the USA, France, Spain and Scandinavia are regular and popular performers.
