The Mains of Darnley c 1830.
The watercolour shows thatched farm buildings at the Mains of Darnley, which was located to the north of what is now Leggatston Road in Deaconsbank. A woman and a little girl are walking along a track towards the buildings.
The painting was by an unknown artist working for the Maxwell family. It is one of a series which depict buildings and landscapes on the Pollok Estate, owned by the Maxwells.
