A Perspective View of the Principal Buildings of the Glasgow International Exhibition 1888 by James Sellars (1843-1888) in pen, watercolour and wash.
Sellars was a Glaswegian architect who won the competition to design the buildings for the International Exhibition of 1888. The results had a strong oriental flavour and the buildings were nicknamed "Baghdad by Kelvinside." The exhibition boosted Sellar's reputation and he would probably have won many more important commissions if he had not died in October 1888 - reputedly of blood poisoning, after stepping on a nail at the exhibition!
