Camlachie ILP banner

The banner of the Camlachie branch of the Independent Labour Party (ILP).

The ILP was founded in 1893 by Ayrshireman Keir Hardie, who is portrayed on the banner. The party affiliated to the Labour Party when the latter was formed in 1906, but disaffiliated in 1932 to pursue more radical socialist policies.

Although it was probably made in 1928, the banner is of a traditional design common in earlier trade union banners.
