Clerical robes belonging to Vera Kenmure (1904-1973).

Vera Kenmure (née Findlay) was Scotland's first woman minister. Having studied at the University of Glasgow, she was ordained on 4 Nov 1928 and appointed pastor of Partick Congregational Church. She became minister of other churches in Glasgow before retiring from Pollokshields Congregational in 1968.

Vera Kenmure was president of the Congregational Union of Scotland from 1951-1952. She was also an active member of the Glasgow Central Soroptimist Club (soroptimists are members of an international association of women's clubs) and was club president, 1937-1938.
