Bishop's Mitre

An elaborately embroidered and jewelled mitre (ceremonial headdress) made for the Episcopal Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway in 1904 by Georgina Oliphant.

The United Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway is one of the seven dioceses of the Scottish Episcopal Church and covers south west Scotland. St Mary's in Great Western Road became the diocese's Cathedral Church in 1908.
