The White Cart Water and the Old Snuff Mill Bridge at Cathcart, photographed by Duncan Brown from the north.
Duncan Brown (1819-1897) was a talented amateur photographer whose work documents aspects of Glasgow life from the 1850s until the 1890s. This is one of several photographs which he took of the Cathcart area. The bridge was probably built in the late 18th century, possibly re-using masonry from an earlier structure.
