Duncan Brown (1819-1897) was a talented amateur photographer whose work documents aspects of Glasgow life from the 1850s until the 1890s. In this photograph he shows the view looking up a dirt road between two rows of cottages. A number of children and a dog play in the street while other inhabitants pose for the camera.
