Two musicians in a backcourt at Old Castle Road in Cathcart, early 20th century. The chimneys of a Victorian tenement on the other side of the road are visible above the roof of the run-down two-storey building in the centre.
The bagpipes player and the accordionist may be travelling musicians or public house entertainers. The smiling old man, women and children in their audience are probably local residents. The small boy standing by the backstairs appears to have a cigarette in his mouth.
