A fossil bivalve (the Icelandic cyprine or Arctica islandica) from Hillington. It dates from between 14,500 to 13,000 BP (ie; Before Present - the equivalent of 12,500-11,000 BC), when parts of the Glasgow area were under the sea.
Icelandic cyprines can still be found in the Firth of Clyde.
