Model of the City of Glasgow. The ship was built in 1848 by Robert Barclay & Curle for George Smith & Sons who operated the City Line. The City of Glasgow worked on the Clyde to Calcutta service, and was the first "City" to join the City Line.
The model is 1:48 scale and was rigged by Museum of Transport staff in 1964. It is one of over 700 ship models in the museum.
