10-12 HP Argyll car

A 10-12 horse power Argyll car.

This two cylinder Tonneau was one of a range of early motor cars made in Bridgeton at the Hozier Engineering Co works in Hozier Street. The standard model cost £350. The Tonneau came with Michelin tyres, an Astor engine and a Longuemare carburettor. Extras, such as a pump, a magneto or a canvas hood, were available at an additional cost.

In 1904, the 10-12 HP Argyll won awards in the Irish Automobile Club hill-climbing tests, knocked 3 hours and 20 minutes off the Land's End to John O' Groats speed record and won the gold medal in the Scottish Automobile Club reliability trials, Glasgow to London.
