The Rothesay Entertainers in 1924.
The Rothesay Entertainers were the brainchild of Robert Fyfe from Glasgow, who started out as a master painter and decorator in his father's firm in Rutherglen. He first became involved in the entertainment business through painting theatre backdrops. Eventually he began hiring the theatre in Rothesay every summer and putting on shows for the holiday makers coming "doon the watter" from Glasgow.
The Rothesay Entertainers staged summer shows at the Winter Gardens for over twenty-five years and were part of the holiday experience for thousands of people. Many of the entertainers who started there went on to become famous.
