Christmas at the Caledonian Railway Co!
Engine 122 is seasonally decorated with holly for a white Christmas. This engine was a class 117, 4-4-0 type built in the St Rollox Railway Works, Springburn, and delivered for service in 1912. Class 117 engines cost around £2,800 each to build.
This engine was allocated to Carlisle when it went into service, and worked on the postal runs between Carlisle and Aberdeen.
