Michael House and Anglican Chaplaincy

The University of Glasgow's Michael House and the Anglican Chaplaincy, Oakfield Avenue, c 1970s.

St Mary's Cathedral in Great Western Road had been the Chaplaincy from the mid-1950s, the Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway having appointed a chaplain to the University's Anglican students. The Chaplaincy at 43 Oakfield Avenue was established in 1966 and maintained Michael House as a hostel for male students, next door at No 45.
