Interior of a room at the University of Glasgow's Dalrymple Hall of Residence in Belhaven Terrace West (off Great Western Road), 1978. The terrace of houses in Belhaven Terrace West was designed by James Thomson and erected 1870-1874. In 1965 the University of Glasgow converted five of the houses to accommodate students.
This sparsely-decorated double room has two beds, cupboard, shelves, desk, chairs, lamps, wardrobe, and bedside tables. There is a poster on the wall advertising a Genesis concert at the Apollo promoting the album A Trick of the Tail. The University's halls of residence also provided bathroom facilities, kitchens for preparing meals, dining rooms, laundry facilities and recreation rooms.
