Paisleys was a long-established Glasgow tailors and outfitters, founded in the late 19th century. The department store on the corner of Jamaica Street and Clyde Street was particularly popular with parents shopping for school uniforms for their children. The store was acquired by Sir Hugh Fraser in the 1980s, who traded there briefly and renamed the store "Sir Hugh".
