Advertisement for R W Forsyth, outfitters, in Glasgow University Magazine 18 October 1922. The subject of the illustration is a rugby player, whose strip includes a belt to hold up his shorts.

Forsyth was the appointed outfitters to Glasgow University Athletic Club. GUAC was founded in April 1881 to promote all forms of "athletic exercise" in the University. It is responsible for the organisation of student sport and all students have free membership of the Club.

GUAC awards Blues to those who represented the University in competitions and tries to cater for all types of sport in the University. It became the Glasgow University Sports Association in the late 1990s.
