Forsyth's was a popular Glasgow outfitter and regularly placed large attractive advertisements in GUM in the early 20th century. Their advertisements were specifically targeted at students, with the emphasis on stylish but formal clothing such as the "Gandabak" overcoat, one of their most popular items.
