Sir George Husband Baird Macleod (1828-1892) was Regius Professor of Surgery at the University of Glasgow, 1869-1892.
Macleod was the son of the famous minister Norman, and studied medicine at the University of Glasgow and at Paris and Vienna before serving as a surgeon at a hospital in Smyrna in Turkey during the Crimean War. He was knighted in 1887.
