Comedienne Margo Henderson at the piano during a Five Past Eight show. Henderson, who became famous as a star of the Black and White Minstrel Show in the 1960s, often appeared in a double act with her husband Sam Kemp.
The Alhambra Theatre's Five Past Eight Show was the successor to the old Half Past Eight shows that had begun at the King's Theatre in the 1930s. The summer shows featured Britain's top variety acts and attracted large audiences in the 1950s and 1960s.
