Daily Record Building

The Daily Record Building, headquarters of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail at Central Quay, photographed in 2004. Built by Jaguar Building Services for Trinity Mirror Newspapers, the building was completed in 2000 to replace the former headquarters at nearby Anderston Quay. It was the first building to be opened in the new urban business park.

The Daily Record dates from 1895, and in 2004 it is Scotland's best-selling daily newspaper. Along with the Sunday Mail, founded in 1919, it has consistently supported the Labour Party since being acquired by the Mirror Group in 1955. Printing operations for the newspapers are carried out at Cardonald.

The Daily Record Building also is home to Quay Multimedia, a company that produces television commercials and promotional, sponsorship and training videos, CDs and DVDs. The Scottish Press Association, the national news agency of Scotland, is also based in the building.
