Bon Accord

The Bon Accord public house in North Street, photographed in 2004.

The Bon Accord has been known as one of Glasgow's foremost real ale pubs since 1973, when cask Belhaven and Maclays beers were introduced. This was to prove a popular development, and soon the pub was offering cask beers from all over England as well as Scotland. At any one time there are likely to be ten different ales on tap, along with keg beers.

Dark wood furnishings and a wooden floor help give the Bon Accord a traditional atmosphere. As well as food and entertainment, the pub offers cellar tours, to provide an insight into the work involved in providing real ales. The Bon Accord regularly wins awards such as the CAMRA Glasgow and West of Scotland Branch Pub of the Year in 2003 and the 2004 Licensed Traders Award for Best Beer Pub.
