Clive House on the corner of India Street and St Vincent Street, c 1980. When the photograph was taken, Clive House was occupied by Strathclyde Regional Council staff and staff of Glasgow District Council's Housing Department.
Designed by John Drummond & Partners, Clive House was completed in 1971 as part of the redevelopment of the Anderston area. It is typical of the unattractive and soulless office blocks erected in the city during the 1960s and early 1970s. It was vacated following the demise of Strathclyde Regional Council in 1996. In early 2004 the building lies empty and apparently in a state dereliction. The building's name has disappeared from the wall.
