A caricature of Lowrie Coulter originally published in Kay's The Morning Walk in 1793 and reproduced in J F S Gordon's compendium of Glasgow histories, Glasghu Facies. Gordon tells us only that Coulter considered himself to be "the wisest man in Glasgow".
