Middlefield School

Middlefield Special School on Partickhill Road in the early 1970s.

The school opened on 14 January 1907 in a building previously occupied by Anderston Street School's Cripple Childrens' Class. Middlefield closed for a time in 1968 and its pupils were moved to the newly-built Gadburn School on Rockfield Road in Barmulloch.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the building houses Middlefield Residential School and specialises in the education and care of autistic children between the ages of 5 and 18.
