"The Sights Of Glasgow Fair", a song preserved in a scrapbook entitled Old Glasgow Street Songs etc, 1850 which is held at the Mitchell Library.
This song describes the excursions and holidays available to people during the annual Glasgow Fair holiday, but dwells on the attractions of the fairground on Glasgow Green. There are panoramas; Punch and Judy shows, fierce wild animals, waxworks, freak shows and all manner of attractions. "Then go to the Fair and don't stay in your house, drink and be merry along with your spouse."
