Glasgow on a Saturday Night

"Glasgow City On A Saturday Night", a song by the Irishman Andrew Love which has been preserved in a scrapbook entitled Old Glasgow Street Songs etc, 1850 and is held at the Mitchell Library.

In twenty-four verses, Love describes the ways in which Glasgow publicans tempt customers into their premises; the nature and wiles of Glasgow girls; the fashion among Glasgow men for wearing beards and the tricks adopted by shopkeepers to swindle their customers.
