The first class tea room of the RMS Viper. The Viper was a 315 feet steamer which operated on the Ardrossan-Belfast route 1906-1914 for the Glasgow shipping company G & J Burns.
The tearoom was a recent innovation on the relatively short crossing. It held twenty-six people and contained satinwood furniture with white enamelled and silk tapestry panelling on the walls and ceiling. The ship also contained a first class smoke-room and four private state rooms for wealthier passengers.
