Holiday Centre

A poster advertising Glasgow as an ideal holiday destination, produced by the City of Glasgow District Council's Information Bureau in the late 1980s.

The main picture shows the front of Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. The inserts are (from left to right) a view of the University of Glasgow from the Museum, Buchanan Street, Glasgow Cathedral and the City Chambers in George Square.

Glasgow City Council was created in the local government reorganisation of 1996 to assume the responsibilities for the city that had been held since 1975 by the City of Glasgow District Council and Strathclyde Regional Council.
