Scotstoun Stadium is Glasgow's premier athletics venue and provides a facility which complements direct funding for athletes, providing specialist training camps and medical support services.
An eight-lane synthetic 400 metre track was laid at Scotstoun in 1996 and the stadium has subsequently hosted some of Great Britain's international athletics fixtures. In 1997 the Scotstoun Leisure Centre hosted the World Badminton championships.
