Cartha Athletic Club fielded a cricket team every season from the inception of the club in 1890 until 1905. This team is recorded as having beaten Clydesdale (Titwood Eleven) by 60 runs to 15 all out. A player called R Love (lying at front) took seven wickets for eight runs.
