Advertisement from the Post Office Glasgow directory of 1926-1927 for H & J Pillans & Wilson, printers in Renfield Street, Glasgow and Bernard Terrace, Edinburgh. Consumer product advertising invariably responds to and reflects changes in society, and it is interesting that it is a woman who is depicted behind the wheel of this expensive car. Glasgow's middle class women enjoyed greater social freedoms after the First World War, and many were unafraid to display the trappings of increased financial independence.
