An advertisement for Hilliard & Chapman, cutlers and surgical instrument makers, from the Post Office Glasgow directory of 1843-1844. The firm made cutlery and surgical instruments at its premises in Buchanan Street. It also manufactured artificial limbs, syringes and other items for amputees and the crippled.
