A view of the Banqueting Hall Staircase at Glasgow City Chambers from the first floor landing, 1888. The alabaster panels and the different colours of marble used in its construction provide a rich and visually stunning Baroque effect. The domed ceiling of the three-story staircase is lavishly plastered.
