Football coaches from China's Dalian FC with Scottish Football Association coaches on a course at Inverclyde Training Centre, Largs. The photograph appeared in the July 1987 issue of Glasgow City Council's newspaper The Bulletin. The Council had arranged for coaches from Dalian, one of Glasgow's twin cities, to attend the course run by the SFA. They claimed to have benefited from the experience.
The photograph includes some well known faces in Scottish football. They are, from left to right: Mark McGhee (whose clubs included Aberdeen, Hamburg and Celtic); Alex Smith (St Mirren manager at the time); Celtic's Danny McGrain; Jimmy Nicholl of Manchester United and Rangers; Aberdeen stalwart and future Rangers manager Alex McLeish, and Scotland coach Andy Roxburgh, a former Partick Thistle player and subsequently technical director to UEFA, the Union of European Football Associations.
