Blackburn Houses, Drumchapel

Blackburn Mark III brick and aluminium houses at Bankglen Road, Drumchapel, designed and produced by Blackburn Aircraft of Barge Park in Dumbarton and erected for Glasgow Corporation in 1960.

The Blackburn non-traditional house was originally designed as a prefabricated bungalow. The Mark III was a two-storey permanent building, with a brick shell but featuring prefabricated internal wall linings, aluminium roofs and other components. Traditional foundations were used on the site.

The houses have been demolished.
