The "Chester" overcoat, illustrated in the Walwer styles overcoats catalogue for the winter of 1939-1940 issued by Wallace & Weir, 26 Argyle Street, manufacturers of men's and boy's clothing.
The particular style illustrated is the SB grade, which cost an additional 12/6d (62.5p) on top of the price for the standard SX grade. Additional features for this grade included shoulder lining baisted and felled by hand, open bottom cuff, fine quality art satin lining, and "real Selvt pockets."
