Pettigrew & Stephens Sale, 1933

Ladies' gloves illustrated in a sale catalogue issued by Pettigrew & Stephens in January 1933.

In the 1930s, gloves were obligatory and no formal attire would be complete without them. Long evening gloves were usually worn in a colour contrasting with the dress, but net or lace gloves were thought vulgar. For day wear, gauntlet styles were popular.
