The Boys', Girls' and Children's Goods Department in Bayne & Duckett's boot and shoe warehouse at the corner of Brunswick Street and Wilson Street, from a booklet issued by the firm to mark its opening in 1928. The layout of this department is almost identical to that of the Ladies' Boots and Shoes Department.

The booklet observes that considerable developments had taken place in the previous 25 years in terms of variety in colour, style and shape of girls' and children's shoes. Boys' footwear, in contrast, was still more orthodox, generally on the same lines as men's but on a smaller scale.

The buyer for both the the Boys', Girls' and Children's Goods Department, and the Men's Department was Samuel Laverie, who later became a director of the company. He retired in 1953, after fifty-six years' service.
