The Wellington boot is usually thought of today as a rubber boot, but is illustrated as a leather boot with a wood sole in this 1920s mail order catalogue produced by the Scottish Wholesale Specialty Co. It looks a solid working boot, although questions may have been asked about the quality of the felt lining, when the identical boot with no lining appears to have cost one shilling (5p) more!
