The "Ure" interior cooker, manufactured by Allan Ure & Co at the Springbank Foundry in Keppochhill Road, is illustrated in the firm's 1929 catalogue. A combined cooker, fire and water heater represented the best of modern technology, clean and economical of space and labour. The cookers were priced at around £10, with the fireplaces and tiles as extras.

The firm was created by the amalgamation of two well-established ironfounding companies, Thomas Allan & Sons and William Ure.
