The first Glasgow directory was published in 1783 by John Tait. This image is taken from a facsimile reprint published in 1871 by Robert Forrester.
Page 9 of the directory follows on from page 5. The reason for this is not obvious, as there appear to be no omissions. The list of professors at the University of Glasgow begun on page 5 is completed on page 9, followed by the first part of a list of members of the Faculty of Procurators.
