The Hampden Picture House, named after the nearby football stadium, was opened by Hampden Picture House Ltd in Westmoreland Street in 1920. Bug-resistant seats were advertised as a feature.
This programme for 1935 shows a change of film every Monday and Thursday. The Hampden was sold to George Green Ltd in 1956. It closed as a cinema in 1969, but the building carried on as a bingo club, cycling club and Irish social club.
