Arthur Sullivan (1842-1900) was a conductor, composer and (with his collaborator William Schwenk Gilbert) the creator of some of the world's greatest comic operas.
Sullivan came to Glasgow on a number of occasions to conduct orchestras at concerts organised by the Glasgow Choral Union, 1875-1877.
