Dr Andrew Fergus

Dr Andrew Fergus (1822-1887) was a scientist and physician.

Fergus was born in Newcastle-on-Tyne and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1845. He was awarded the degree of MD by the University of Glasgow in 1866 and practiced medicine in the city.

A member of the Royal Philosophical Society of Glasgow, Fergus was a respected advocate of sanitary reform.
