A row of whitewashed cottages at the Whins of Potterfield, Shawlands, photographed by Duncan Brown c 1890s.
Duncan Brown (1819-1897) was a talented amateur photographer whose work documents aspects of Glasgow life from the 1850s until the 1890s. These picturesque cottages were probably occupied by coal miners who worked at the nearby Lochinch pit.
