A row of whitewashed houses in Strathbungo, photographed by Duncan Brown in the 1880s or 1890s. There is a row of new tenements behind the houses.
The sheds on the left appear to form part of a builder's yard. A large sign indicates that land that is available for feuing (ie: for sale), presumably for new building, and a poster advertises lairs at Cathcart Cemetery.
Duncan Brown (1819-1897) was a talented amateur photographer whose work documents aspects of Glasgow life from the 1850s until the 1890s.
